The 12th edition of the ‘Trobades de Música Meditarránia’ took place in Torroella de Montgrí. Yannis Papaioannou held a master class about traditional greek instruments and also gave a seminar regarding the music created by exiled greeks after the 1919-1922 greek-turkish war.

Yannis Papaioannou will present his new work in the 16th International Oud Festival in Tetouan, Morocco, together with Aniol Lopez in the percusions and Zacharias Vamvakousis in the accordeon.

Mamak Khadem and Yannis Papaioannou played 2 concerts in Catalunya. On Friday, September 5th they played a gig in La Miranda (Barcelona) and on Saturday 6th, in an intimate and chilled-down space, Els Jardins de la Mercè (Girona).
Yannis Papaioannou and Aniol López gave a Master Class on “Melody & Percusions in Mediterranean music” and “Turkish Darbuka tecnincs” while being in Vigo (Galicia) as a part of their tour. Attendants had the chance to expand and improve their knowledge and performance of Mediterranean music.

“Yacine & the Oriental Groove” closed “La Diada”, with a big concert in Arc de Triomf of Barcelona, the 11th of September 2013. That was a significant concert due to the feelings shared by catalan people and the message of freedom which the band transmits through their lyrics.
“Yacine and the Oriental Groove Orchestra” presented their new production in “Getxo Folk Festival” together with legendaries basque artists suchs as Iñigo Muguruza and Fran Lasuen. That’s one ambitious production, with lots of musicians and different arrangements which takes the band close to a nearly symphonic setup.
“Yacine & the Oriental Groove” realized their first concerts in Canada. They had the chance to trasmit their mediterranean feelings all across the ocean as they performed in “Festival Orientalys” in Montreal, (QC) and in “Festival des Traditions” in Sherbrooke (QC), the 9th and 10th of August.
Yacine & the Oriental Groove”, honouring their mediterranean essence, sailed to Menorca island last summer for two gigs. On Thursday, July 25th in Ciutadella, and on Friday, July 26th in Maó.
Papaioannou and Samira Kadiri performed together in “International Festival Al Ansra” in M’diq, Morocco.
Yannis Papaioannou performed together with moroccan singer Samira Kadiri in “Sacred Music Festival” of Fes (Morocco). Together they offered 2 concerts in Dar Mokri the 11th of June 2013.

Yannis Papaioannou participated in “Concert per la Libertat” that took place the 29th of June 2013 in Camp Nou (Barcelona). Together with Yacine Belahcene they interpreted their “orientalized” version of George Brassens’song “La mauvaise reputation”.
